Lesson 2 Studio J Leadershare Layout

Lesson 2
Techniques:
Create your own Argyle B&T paper
Customize the kit by adding different colors
Rotating a page

While I admit, this lesson was quite "cool", it is a technique for that special photo.  To create the argyle look at the bottom of page one, can you guess what was used to create this?  Anyone?  Text boxes.....Yes text boxes and then stitching in the text boxes.  What a fun technique to think "out of the box" and use elements not for their original purpose.

Learn More on May 5th or 6th......Check out my FREE Class.

A Week of Studio J Layouts

You have seen some of the items we created at the Leadershare event I attended in Omaha the past couple of weeks, and now I thought I'd show you the 5 FREE Studio J layouts that I created with some instructions from Close To My Heart.  While I have done quite a few layouts in Studio J, and enjoy that I am "caught up" with my everyday scrapbooking, these 5 layouts taught me so much I didn't realize you could do with Studio J.

Want to get caught up on your scrapbooking?  Join me for a FREE class and learn more about Studio J.  Either May 5th or May 6th.  (See right side bar).  Bring your laptop with a couple of photos you'd like to scrapbook and "Let Me Show You How" digital scrapbooking with Studio J is just a Click away.  Email me at stampingbee@southslope.net to reserve your spot.

First Lesson:
World War II Memorial

Techniques Used:

  • Use text boxes to add cardstock
  • Use a single photo in multiple photo wells
  • Layering MyStickease to create a single image
  • Create a unique title by using multiple text boxes

Check out the Cardstock Title and Stitching

One photo is "Spread over the bottom 6 photo wells, and two My Stickeases are combined to make it look like one element.

Organization for a Trip Scrapbook Style

By the time you read this I will be sailing away on a Mexican Riviera Cruise with my husband to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. This is an idea that I "lifted" from a fellow Close To My Heart consultant. Why not be Organized BEFORE you go?  Take any pocket organizer for filing and use this to store all those extra items you want to save and scrapbook "one day". Of course an organizer wouldn't be complete with out a little "bling". Here I used the Footloose Papers to jazz up my front and inside covers. This way when you return from your vacation all your items are in one place and you can grab and go and start your scrapooking in a FLASH (pardon the photography pun) :o)

Titles cut with the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.
Stamp Set Used:  Just Chillin
Accessories:  Sea Side Wooden Shapes - Distressed with Cocoa Ink

Close To My Heart Leadershare

One of the things I love about being a Close To My Heart consultant is the opportunity to go to corporate sponsored events.  Many of you know how much I LOVE convention, but this past March I had the oppotunity to go to Omaha, NE to a day and half event called Leadershare.  Not only did I get to see my CTMH friends, but it is the opportunity to come together and SHARE ideas with one another and learn new things that I love.  Over the next few days and weeks I will be sharing the projects we created at Leadershare in March.  From a 12 page workshop with Footloose papers, to a 10 card workshop (2 of 5 different cards) with Florentine, layouts with Pemberley, and more cards with Stella, there was so much creativity going on.

First up I'll share my layouts with the Pemberley paper packet.  This is such a simple layout, but simply beautiful.  The layout design is from Imagine "Creative Team" pg. 104.  Create the title with our Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.

Products used:
D1510  - 4 My Friend
C1503 - The Best Things
X7148B - Pemberley Paper Packet
Z1719 - Color Ready Evergreen Cork Shapes
Z1687 - Bohemian Assortment

Imagine "Creative Team"  Page 104

The Bohemian Assortment creates just the perfect accents.

Add just the right caption to complete your page.

Just a little distressing completes the look.
